Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT)
LPI is commonly utilized as a low-cost inspection method for locating surface breaking flaws in all non-ferrous and ferrous materials; however, magnetic particle inspection is frequently employed for ferrous components. LPI is used to identify surface flaws in casting, forging, and welding, such as hairline cracks, surface porosity, leaks in new products, and fatigue cracks in in-service components. For very sensitive examination, we provide on-site liquid penetrant testing utilizing contrast or fluorescence penetrant. We provide on-site liquid penetrant inspection. For very sensitive assessment of surface breaking fractures in non-magnetic materials, we employ both color contrast and fluorescent penetrant.
